BKL is back | Quick recap

Greetings all,
I can’t believe it’s almost been a year since my last post. I know it’s bad….very bad. For some reason time just flew by and with the wedding planning, honey moon going, full-time job, and……and……and. I know there are absolutely NO EXCUSES.

Anyway now that that’s out of the way we can now focus on what an amazing and eventful year it has been.

Lets recap:

My man and I got hitched (big yay) last September. He has now officially taken on the “hubby” title. Had a very nice civil ceremony with close family and had a big bash the following day. We really wanted to have a toast and party with all of our close friends. Most of the planning was done by yours truly – however we couldn’t have done it without the help our families. Here’s an enormous THANK YOU to all of you who made our day so very special. IMG_20140927_174704

IMG_20140927_161428 copyThe party was held in a house from 1670  (yes let’s do some math, this is just about 340 years ago). It is now being used as a museum and I focused on having a pale color palette including cherry blossom pink, rose, off-white and celadon. The bouquet had a white calla in homage to the bouquet my mother had when she and my dad got married (now over 33 years ago).

Our photographer Aline Marandet took the most wonderful pictures – we will forever be able to look back on what an amazing love filled day we had.

Had a more than crazy “Thanksgiving Dinner” at our house – which ended in us dancing to party tunes in our dining room. The hubby and I decided that we want to make it a tradition since Thanksgiving isn’t really being celebrate in Switzerland and I cannot think of anyone that has ever lived in the States that wouldn’t want to eat Turkey, Stuffing, and all the other yummy food at least once a year.

Went skiing in the Austrian Alps – Zillertal,  over New Years.

Honeymooned in beautiful Australia. I will share some of our “must-dos” and tips from our trip in the next couple of weeks. Get ready – its gonna be filled with good food and good wine and you will want to pack your bags and hop on the next plane.


Bought a house which we will be moving into in September – actually we will be moving on the exact day of our 1. year wedding anniversary and with all of the cardboard boxes we-ll be needing we’re not too far away from the traditional 1st year anniversary gift of paper.

Went on another (much more relaxed) trip to Rome. I’ll give you guys some more tips and details on great places to eat, sleep and drink.


Now we’re on the finally enjoying a more than hot summer in Switzerland, complete with inflatable boats, lots of BBQing and warm nights spent with friends and family.
